On Thursday 22 November, 2018, the Young Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce was proud to host Jack Gance, Chairman and Co-Founder of Chemist Warehouse for a sell-out event held at PwC and sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills.

Jack shared his personal learnings and advice on business and strategy in an unmissable masterclass presentation.

After bringing the Le Specs, Le Tan and Australis brands to Australia, Jack sold them off to found the My Chemist Retail Group, comprising the Chemist Warehouse and My Chemist chains, with his brother in 1972.

Since then, it has expanded relentlessly, to over 400 stores nationally.

The company is one of Australia's largest retailers, with sales estimated to be over $5 billion.

It also has an online business, offers products on ePharmacy, and recently expanded into overseas markets.

A true leader of business in Australia, Jack shared with our members his journey from a pharmacy graduate to a young entrepreneur, and his unique views on leadership, strategy and success.

charity donation

As always, 50% of ticket proceeds are donated to a charity of our speaker's choosing and in this case, Jack has selected Save a Child’s Heart (SACH), an Israeli-based international humanitarian charity, providing life-saving heart surgery and follow-up care for children from developing countries regardless of their race, religion, gender, nationality, or financial status.

It is in this way that the Young AICC has proudly donated over $90,000 for diverse and important causes since 2010
